STEM Learning

STEM Learning’s commitment to STEM education is part of everything they do. Whether that’s delivering teacher CPD in STEM subjects, bringing STEM role models into schools as part of the STEM Ambassador Programme or providing bespoke, long-term support for groups in schools in collaboration with companies through their ENTHUSE partnerships, their aim is always the same – to provide a world-leading STEM education for all young people across the UK.

They work in collaboration with the UK government, employers large and small, organisations and educational establishments to deliver positive STEM interactions for teachers, young people and beyond. In addition, local CPD is provided via STEM Learning’s Science Learning Partnerships who combine local expertise in teaching and learning in science, facilitating CPD, and providing school-to-school support. North and East London Science Learning Partnership, led by Alexandra Park School, covers both Hackney and Tower Hamlets and providers.

Computing at School

Computing At School (CAS) is the Subject Association for Computing Teachers, a free membership organisation for those interested in promoting computing in a school environment.

An understanding of computing enables citizens to make informed choices in the digital world. To get to that point, schools need to encourage and equip their staff. The CAS community of teachers, academics and industry professionals provides access to a range of resources and local events supporting CPD.

Teach Computing

Teach Computing aim to transform the way computing is taught in schools across the country, and enable more young people to benefit from studying this important subject. Through this, they believe that learners’ skills and career opportunities will be enhanced.

They provide teachers with a comprehensive range of evidence-informed, high-quality support, including free recourses and training courses – mostly free of charge or supported by bursaries – to help them become inspirational computing teachers.

In addition, local CPD is provided via STEM Learning’s Computing Hubs who combine local expertise in teaching and learning in Computer science, facilitating CPD, and providing school-to-school support. London and Essex Computing Hub, led by SETSA (South Essex Training and Support Alliance) covers both Hackney and Tower Hamlets.
